The glittering prizes – Two prestigious awards within the space of ten days

What a fabulous couple of weeks it’s been for us at Postcode Anywhere. Having just drained the champagne flutes after our success at the European Call Centre and Customer Service Awards (ECCCSAs) we were delighted to receive some more exciting news. Our CTO Jamie Turner and CEO Guy Mucklow have won the Ernst & Young LLP Entrepreneur of the Year award for the West Midlands region.

The European Call Centre and Customer Service Awards were held recently at Old Billingsgate, London’s most prestigious and exciting conference and events venue, situated in the heart of the City with stunning views of the River Thames.

SUPPORT TEAM Small

Postcode Anywhere was nominated in the Support Team of the Year category competing against some of the most iconic call centre brands in Europe. Nine hundred attendees representing companies from 13 European countries attended the glitzy ‘black tie’ event. The sun shone relentlessly as delegates gathered on the resplendent terrace for a glass of champagne.

As an established programme the awards formally recognise and applaud professional excellence throughout the UK and Europe. It is committed to acknowledging and rewarding the best and most successful individuals and organisations in the contact centre and customer service industry. You can imagine how thrilled we were when Alex Schofield our technical support manager and Steve Roberts, senior technical support consultant & systems administrator came back with an award to grace our existing trophy collection

Comedian Kevin Bridges was compere for the evening, and kept guests entertained during the ceremony after a wonderful dinner. Great Ormond Street Hospital was the chosen charity for the event and thanks to the generosity of guests £4,500 was raised.

Postcode Anywhere had entered the ECCCSAs on previous occasions and have been included in the nomination short list, but this year we romped home to victory. A spokesperson for the judging panel said that they were blown away by the improvement our team had made over the last twelve months and added: “They’re a credit to the organisation with their dedication to customers. The passion and enthusiasm they show is truly inspiring.”

We thought it couldn’t get much better and then as Alex and Steve were hanging up their DJs (in readiness for the Christmas party) our CTO Jamie Turner came back from a prestigious black tie event armed with yet another trophy. Jamie picked up the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for the Midlands region which was a shared honour bestowed upon him and Guy Mucklow our CEO.

The Midlands final took place recently at the Opus restaurant in Birmingham with regional winners automatically going forward to the national finals in October and the chance to represent the UK at a global awards ceremony in June 2015.

In addition of course Guy will be collecting his Queen’s Award for Enterprise Promotion from the Rt. Hon. Dr Vince Cable, Secretary of State for Business Innovation & Skills in July.  We will definitely have to invest in a much bigger trophy cabinet and think of all that extra dusting!
