Key takeaways from Dreamforce 13

The booths have been taken down, the lights turned off, and Dreamforce 13 is now just a distant memory. But wow what a week it was!

The opening keynote from Marc Benioff is always one of my highlights of the show, and being an old hand in attending these keynotes, I think I’m pretty qualified to say that this year’s was one of the best! Benioff spent the first half talking about philanthropy, using technology to help others, and the great work being done by the Salesforce.com foundation, which was truly inspiring and something we can relate to strongly at Postcode Anywhere.

Once again I learnt so much in such a short period of time, and once again, I got completely caught up in the show’s energy and came back to the UK feeling inspired, completely exhausted, and trying to hunt down a pair of shoes like Benioff’s!

The huge theme for this year was how our world is becoming increasingly connected – everything from coke machines to toothbrushes! With everything connected, companies will have an opportunity to improve the customer experience and connect with customers in a meaningful way. Salesforce also announced the launch of Salesforce 1, a new CRM platform which aims to bring all customer interactions under the same umbrella. Salesforce have revamped their platform by consolidating all internet based technologies into one single service that companies can use to build their offering and spend more time and focus on the customer.That was my key takeaway from the show, but I wanted to know what you guys thought.
